What a great 2 days of climbing! We climbed l’Index yesterday (first three) and were on a crag in another valley practicing belaying and leading. Thank you @robinbeadleguide again for two great days.

Really good day out on Monday, I thought you chose a great route, both up and down!
….Look forward to seeing you in the Alps in September.

Scrambling in Langdale, May 2016

Thanks again for the weekend – we both had a great time and learned loads.

Climbing, scrambling and abseil training, May 2016

Thanks for a great mountain experience, and yes it was Scottish in feel, with the spindrift, and the light on the fells on the way down the ridge, it was nice to get those views all around from the ridge….

Lakes Winter Climbing 2016

Thank you for organising the weather and giving us such a good day out. The only disappointment was missing out on your fruit cake! (Travel plans left no time to stop for tea and cake at Bare Syke this time.)

Lake District Scrambling, June 2015

Thanks again for a great day out; loved every minute and your guiding was top notch! Looking forward to Skye but will get some training in first!

Lake District Scrambling, April 2014

Fantastic weekend in Scotland…. Feel like I’ve made good progress with you the last few times out. Woke up feeling really good about the weekend, good feeling of satisfaction….Interested in going to Skye and possible going back to Dow Crag….

I’ve had a look through the photos and am still in awe of those trips; it hardly seems real now I’m back to lush green Somerset!

Quick thank you for yesterday, one of my best days out, really enjoyed.

Lakes March 14

Truly fantastic trip Robin. Thank you so much for getting us up and down those amazing places.

Stubai Alps 2013

Thank you again for a wonderful week. All expectations where achieved! The poor weather the first few days causing us to change our plans really did help us to have a far more interesting time I feel. As a result we had more time to extend the range of activities, climbing more peaks rather than simply walking between huts. We all learnt a great deal. We also enjoyed the social evenings in the huts!

Please contact me should the Lakes get snow this winter, or when, and we will endeavour to come up and spend a day with you.

Thanks again for all the work you put in on our behalf. Hope you are having another good week. We had a good flight home after spending a day in Innsbruck, which was most enjoyable. Thanks for the lift! The train journey was fun, but the walk back to the hotel was further than we thought 10k!

Stubai Alps 2013

Just like to say thank you for an amazing week, without your experience and patience we would not have been able to achieve as much as we did.

Also thanks for the lift to Innsbruck, hope you got back home in time.

Look forward to seeing you again in the Lakes this winter for a day out.

Stubai Alps 2013

Hi Robin,

Been back in Australia now for about 2 weeks…Just wanted to say again how much I enjoyed the climbing trip and your company. It was certainly what I hoped to achieve. I dare say that I’ll be hanging a few of your excellent photos on the wall. Definitely up there with one of my top achievements.

Hope your well and enjoying the remainder of the climbing season.

Traverse of the Aiguille de Bionnassay, Alps 2013

Many thanks for the excellent trip; really enjoyed it. Superbly organised too, especially the weather. Hope to see you in the autumn in the Lakes sometime….

All the best and thanks again,

Matterhorn Ascent 2013

Hi Robin, just a quick note to say thanks for the excellent time that we had last week. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and hope you did too. Hard work at times but every day was something special and your company as well as your professional guidance was absolutely appreciated.

Whymper Couloir, Aiguille Verte June 2013

Hi Robin.

Thanks for another full and value for money day out.  Good climbing and great experience.  Fantastic weather too, back to my preferred style after Scotland’s ‘character building’ week.

All the best for now,

Lakes Winter Climbing 2013

Many thanks again for a brilliant week winter climbing in the Cairngorms, for me the highlight was the superbly challenging  Savage Slit.

Speak to you soon,

Cairngorms Winter Climbing 2013

Hi Robin

Many thanks for a top couple of days climbing, really really enjoyed it. Thanks also to Rebekah and Natalie for their friendliness and to you all for letting me stay in your home. Will email my mates and get back to you. Really looking forward to the summer.

Lakes Winter Climbing, Feb 2013

My Greenland trip went really well thanks, although was quite tough at times. Thankfully we didn’t need to use any crevasse rescue but we did have a look into a moulin on the end of a rope, my heart was definitely pumping! I’ve attached a couple of photos for you if you’re interested? And the kit you and the guys at Adventure Peaks suggested were spot on, so thanks for that too! I also went on a hike after my time on the ice on the Arctic Circle Trail, worth a look if you’re ever in Greenland, just don’t do what I did and book a flight for 8 days after you start the trail, take 7 days of food, and realise you probably need 11 days plus to complete it… my feet were sore to say the least!

Keep in touch and best wishes,

Who had a successful trip to Greenland following his Crevasse Rescue Training in 2012

Hi Robin,

On behalf of our groups recent trip to the Alps I would like to thank you for all your help in making our time truly enjoyable and memorable. Your attention to detail and the professionalism in the execution of your job was valued by each and all. We felt happy in the knowledge that we had a pair of safe hands on the wheel. Especially on Tete Blanche when visibility was nonexistent your guiding skills were not found wanting. We all enjoyed that long day from Bertol to Zermatt.

In regard to Gran Paradiso the choice of guides was excellent. Both Neil and Tony proved themselves worthy of the task and we also enjoyed their company too. It was a tough climb after all the snow fall during the night prior to the summit bid and we were happy to have reached close to the summit.

Pity the weather conditions were not in our favour for the Mont Blanc attempt but we are happy in the knowledge that safety was always paramount and ultimately the weather is king.

The two ladies were extremely impressed and we all agreed we would have no hesitation in calling upon you in the future.

With best regards,

Alpine mountain holiday 2012…

…with a bit of bad weather en route!

Thanks for this.  The photos look amazing.  I will need to work out whether I can print these off properly, to frame in the loo!

I had a great time, and thanks again for taking me up there.  I am keen to do something similar next year.

Thanks again, and I will be in touch.

The Rochefort Ridge, Alps 2012

Hi Robin,

I hope you are well?

We finished our third and last day climbing in Scotland yesterday and what a few days it has been!  We really had the most incredible time, a result of being very fortunate with the weather but also a really solid and thorough understanding and foundation of mountaineering.

Throughout our days climbing we often stopped, analysed the situation whether that be the snow conditions, the route, the weather, our gear etc… and made decisions we were comfortable with because we have had such a brilliant and useful training from you.  Upon summitting our first route – the Ledge Route – I felt that was one of the best things I had ever done and in that moment everything felt worth it.  It has been a commitment in terms of time and expense with guiding and gear and it is all worth it when it comes together and we get to achieve such great things.

We felt safe and strong moving together, after the climbs we spent time analysing our decisions good and bad so we could improve for next time, we loved it and all made possible by the hours we have spent with you in the mountains and the way you have trained us.

Thanks so much Robin.  When you are not there its such a relief to think “what would Robin do” when we are confronted with a situation of concern and feel as though we are able to make good decisions because we learnt how to prepare and look after ourselves properly from you.

We had two friends with us who are novices in mountaineering and I think that really illuminated how much we have learnt and why everything you’ve taught us is so important.

We do still have so much more to learn but for now I wanted to say thanks!

Happy Christmas,

Robin – the website is looking really good and the Oetztal pics are great.   You’ve captured both the magnificent views at the start and my enormous pleasure at actually getting there.  As usual, the trip gets better by the day in retrospect and after my op. in the spring, being able to do a 14 1/2 hour day was pretty incredible.  It’s also amazing that we’ve been climbing (very modestly I know) together since 1996 so you must be doing something right.

Hi Robin,

Thanks again for all your help and guidance in France. You helped give the lads a really inspiring experience – my knees may not cope with that sort of hammering again!

Skiing, Chamonix, 2012

Hi Robin

Being on the summit of Mont Blanc with you and Sally was amazing. When you pointed out the Matterhorn in the distance it inspired me to return to the Alps and tackle the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt. Thanks also for introducing me to via ferrata/klettersteig on the Mittaghorn and for a great week overall. I’ve been bitten by the Alpine bug!

Mont Blanc 2010

Hi Robin,

Thanks again for the climbing on Tuesday.  I was very pleased with how it all went and almost surprised myself at how much I enjoyed it all.  Quite an exceptional day.

Hope you have had a good week so far.  Stewed apple for tea again today.

Best regards,

Lake District Rock Climbing, Nov 2011

Hi Robin,

Thank you very much for taking us up into the mountains. We had a brilliant time and thoroughly enjoyed our first Alpine experience.

You were both very professional and good fun. We both recognised your vast experience of mountaineering and taking different people up into the mountains. You handled our dilemma of whether to go up Mont Blanc really well. We are both very grateful for this. The options you gave us were extremely useful for us to make a decision that worked out the best for all of us in the end.

When we return to climb other peaks we will give you a call and see if you are available. Thanks for the link to the photos. They are brilliant.

Alps 2011

Thanks Robin, home again, no problems en-route.

The whole week turned out to be a big success despite not achieving the ultimate aim.  Learned a lot, had a lot of fun and have already got the ‘green light’ to go again for Mont Blanc summit (which may be better than having achieved it in the first place).

I’d be very happy to see if you could lead us again but I’ll discuss with Dave first and at the moment I have no idea when in the next year it could be.  I have already looked at accommodation around Chamonix and rates seem pretty good.  I may even convince my other half to come out if only for a few days.  We’ll see.

Thanks again for a great week.  Despite the obvious disappointment of being unable to get to the summit I can look back and fully appreciate your and Robs’ efforts to ensure that we had a full schedule of very satisfying activity.  Great.

Best wishes, good luck with the rest of the season.  I’ll be in touch again (and will keep an eye on your website).

Alps 2011, Rock climbing 2011 and 2012, and Alps 2012 when we summitted Mont Blanc on Day 4 leaving time to spare for more routes.

Robins’ wealth of knowledge and experience is unquestionable, on a recent trip to the Alps I was in awe of not only his mountain goat impression (he never tired) but his experience and ability to impart his knowledge and advice to us. Can’t recommend him highly enough and would certainly ask him to take us up some hills in the future!

Hi Robin,

Thanks for your email and all the helpful information. We were going to email you anyway to say ‘thank you’ and that we had a really great couple of days with you. We learnt a lot and our confidence for the future has really grown.

Thanks again, we really enjoyed it.

Thanks again for a great day out yesterday; the perfect mix of pushing myself and learning useful information along the way.  Could you let me know the size of the pitons you carried yesterday; I remember there was a channel, kingpin, Z channel and blade but can’t remember the lengths or thickness’ ?

Greenland 2011

Hi Robin

What an adventure! Considering I had no idea what to expect from the trip. In the beginning I thought “Oh f***, what have I let myself in for!” But hey such an experience, so glad I came along. You did a great job guiding and finding alternate routes, thankyou. Still good snow here so I might do a hike on Sunday. Getting back into work mode “slowly”. Have a good summer.

Thanks again,

Ski Haute Route 2008

Great ski-touring guide – good at tailoring the trip to match the needs and abilities (or lack of!) of clients. Really good at encouraging us to go far beyond where we thought we were capable of, without falling off the mountain or down a crevasse in the process!

Ski Mountaineering, Saas, 2009

We had lots of fun with Robin who really pulled out all the stops giving us great days, when the 4,000-ers were not feasible. We also tasted wonderful flapjacks made by his daughter Carrie, so I have asked for the recipe. Next time I go with Robin, I expect a supply of flapjacks! Looking forward already to next year- the Bernese Alps – a different area.

So, go raibh míle maith agat Robin. Go dtí an blian seo chugainn le cúnamh Dé.

So, thank you Robin. Until next year please God.

Thanks very much for your lecture last night.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and as you will see from the circular I have sent around, so did everybody else.  It was also a magnificent turnout – which also helps the funding of course.  You will notice from the circular that I have taken the liberty of promoting your position as a guide.

Thanks again, have a good Christmas & New Year,

Best wishes
